HOW THE TEST PREP PROGRAM WORKS?
- Diagnostic Test
To evaluate the students’ current level of reading and writing skills (along with Math and Science for ACT), which serves as a benchmark to assess students, customize their test prep program, and realistically guide them towards a desired test score

WHAT IS ACT?
- It is a written exam conducted by ACT Inc.
- Most widely administered college entrance exam in the U.S.
- 4 multiple-choice tests
- English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science
- Optional Writing section.
- 3 hours and 35 minutes to complete the entire ACT, including the Writing section (essay)
- 2 hours and 35 minutes without the Writing section (essay) which is optional
WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE?
- English: 75-questions in a multiple-choice format that tests grammar, sentence correction, and rhetorical skills.
- Math: A 60-minute section with 60 questions on Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry.
- Reading: This section is 35 minutes long and contains 40 multiple-choice questions with four passages on subjects like social studies and humanities.
- Science: This section is similar to the reading section except it has science-based passages.
- Writing: This is the only optional section in the test in which students can choose to write an essay. This section can take up to 40 minutes to complete.

How is it scored?
Each section of the ACT is scored on a 36 point scale. The Composite score, an average score of all the four sections, totals 36 points.
When Offered?
- Offered 6 times each year
- September, October, December, February, April, and June
When to take it?
- Many students take the ACT in their junior year (11th grade)
- Often retake it in the fall (September/October) of their senior (12th) year
